Add a twist to your float trip by trying out our solo (1-person) and tandem (2-person) Old Town Kayaks. Both of these models are recreational kayaks which simply means they have a wider and more stable base. Because of their stability and the calmness of the river, it is not necessary to wear helmets. Even the most novice can traverse the river in these boats with ease. There are a multitude of advantages floating in kayaks. These advantages include (1) being in control of your own boat (in a solo kayak), (2) being able to float in very shallow water (3) easily paddling upstream, (4) and the ability to float with tubes or canoes. Steering is simple and easy. The seats have backs for increased comfort as you are floating. Adjustable foot pegs allow for strong strokes where needed. Coast Guard Approved Vest Type III life jackets and Carlisle paddles are provided. River maps are supplied along with a short safety orientation before your group departs.
